I’ve been looking for a good recipe/directions for making steel cut oatmeal (higher fiber content b/c of the way it’s cut). Generally it takes 35-45 minutes to cook–UNLESS you use a crockpot and cook it overnight. I ran across several recipes that recommended simply putting the oatmeal, water, salt and…
The faculty were issued new notebook computers yesterday for use at school and at home. This Dell Latitude D630 is pretty nifty. Most of us got the Dell, although some got a MacBook—I was hoping that my work with the Collegian (all done on Macs) would have meant that I’d…
I saw this over at Joyful Days:

Yesterday was our first day at school—no students yet, but lots of meetings and getting ready and office stuff. I’m trying to organize files and get situated in my new office. I’ve moved to the third floor from the second, and it’s given me an opportunity to go through a…

While I may no longer be able to consider this person a close friend, he will always be in my prayers. There have been two things that have really helped me through this struggle. Thanks to all!
One thing is the friendships here in Greenville. It has been such a blessing to have good friends who, although they didn’t necessarily know what’s going on, have been an encouragement to me in many ways. My friends, old and new, have shown how loving is the best thing in times of trial.
Another thing is a song by Keith Getty and Stuart Townend. It’s called “The Power of the Cross.” Rather than type all the words out, I’m including a link to a video on youtube. It’s sung by Kristyn Getty. It’s such a powerful song about how Christ has taken all of our sin and washed it away. Click here for video..
“O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.”
You would have to have your head totally in the sand not to know that the Olympics are going on. We’ve followed the first week and a half far more than we thought we would, but the remaining events really aren’t our faves.
Undoubtedly the dominant name has been Michael Phelps. The mainstream media has proclaimed […]
